100 ml oil · 750 gm onions (prepared weight) · 1 tspn salt · 1 tbspn turmeric · 1 tspn ground coriander · ½ tspn ground cumin · +8 more

  • Approx 2 tspn (10 ml)
  • 1 clove
  • ¼ tspn ground cinnamon
  • ½ tspn desiccated coconut
  • ¼ tspn turmeric
  • ¼ tspn poppy seeds
  • ¼ tspn cardamom powder (or equivalent ground seeds)
  • ¼ tspn cumin seeds

Method

  1. 1

    In a pestle and mortar grind the clove, desiccated coconut, poppy seeds and cumin seeds to a fine powder.

  2. 2

    Mix in the ground cinnamon, turmeric and cardamom powder.

  3. 3

    Store in an airtight jar and keep in a cool and dark place.
