Chinese 5 Spice
Chinese-style chinese 5 spice featuring star anise. Fast, flavourful and better than a takeaway.
Ingredients
- Makes approx 30 ml
- 3 star anise
- Β½ tspn mace
- 1Β½ tspn sichuan pepper
- Β½ tspn ground ginger
- 1 tspn fennel seeds
- Β½ tspn onion powder or granules
- 5 cloves
- Β½ tspn salt
- ΒΎ tspn garlic powder or granules
- ΒΌ tspn sugar
Method

Grind the star anise, sichuan pepper, fennel seeds and cloves to a powder in a spice grinder or equivalent.

Thoroughly mix all the spices together.

Store in an airtight jar and keep in a cool and dark place.
