Chicken Dopiaza
A traditional Indian chicken dopiaza with portion pre-cooked chicken, garam masala, Masala Sauce. Cooked from scratch with authentic spices.
Ingredients
- 2 tbspn oil
- 1 portion pre-cooked chicken
- Β½ onion (150 gm prepared weight)
- Β½ tspn garam masala
- 100 ml Masala Sauce
- Β½ tspn ground cumin
- ΒΌ tspn salt
- Β½ tspn coriander seeds
- Β½ tspn hot chilli powder
- ΒΌ tspn fenugreek powder
Method

Mix 100 ml of masala sauce with 100 ml of water.

Grind the coriander seeds to a powder in a pestle and mortar.

Slice the onion into rings.

Heat the oil in a wok.

Add the sliced onion and fry for or until translucent.

Add the diluted masala sauce, mix well and bring to a simmer.

Stir in the salt, chilli powder and the pre-cooked chicken.

Continue to cook on a medium heat for , stirring regularly.

(The idea is to produce a fairly thick sauce, so keep adding a little water to prevent it becoming too dry).

Stir in the garam masala, cumin, ground coriander and fenugreek.

Serve with rice and optionally some chopped coriander.
