Chicken Balti
A traditional Indian chicken balti with chicken breast, Masala Sauce, garam masala. Cooked from scratch with authentic spices.
Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast
- ½ onion
- 2 tbspn oil
- ½ green pepper
- 150ml Masala Sauce
- ¾ tspn garam masala
- ¼ tspn salt
- ½ tspn ground cumin
- ½ tspn paprika
- 1 tbspn fresh coriander
- ½ tspn hot chilli powder
Method

Slice the chicken breast into 4 strips.

Slice the half-onion into 4 parts.

De-seed the green pepper and slice the half-pepper into 4 strips. Then cut each strip into 3 parts.

Heat a deep fryer and deep fry the onion and pepper pieces until they start to brown.

Drain and reserve.

Heat the oil in a wok.

Sauté the chicken, in the oil, for on a medium heat.

Add the Masala Sauce and bring to the boil.

Add the paprika, salt, chilli powder and simmer for , stirring occasionally. (add water as needed to prevent drying out)

Add the deep fried onion and pepper and continue to cook for .

Stir in the garam masala and cumin and simmer on a low heat to heat through.

Serve on a bed of rice and top with the coriander.
