Goochi Mattar
Authentic Indian goochi mattar made the traditional way ā no shortcuts, just proper home-cooked flavour.
Ingredients
- 150 gm button mushrooms (Goochi)
- 100 gm frozen peas (Mattar)
- 1 tbspn oil
- 100 ml Masala Sauce
- ¼ tspn salt
- ¼ tspn turmeric
- ¼ tspn ground cumin
- ¼ tspn hot chilli powder
- ¼ tspn fenugreek
- ¼ tspn garam masala
- 1 tspn fresh coriander

Rinse and thickly slice the mushrooms.

Rinse the frozen peas in hot water and drain.

Heat some oil in a wok.

Add the mushrooms and cook over a medium heat for .

Add the peas and cook for .

Add the masala sauce, stir, and bring to a simmer.

Stir in the salt, turmeric, cumin and chilli powder.

Turn the heat down to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for , adding a little water as necessary.
